This is my Chihuahua journey...
Julia the night Mama brought her home.
She was a complete birthday surprise and about 6 months early! :) We were in Missouri at the time and Mama found a Papillon puppy and bought her. Having an adorable puppy in the house "made" me really want a puppy of my own :). I wanted to sleep with it and bath it and be it's "Mother"! :) But purebred dogs cost so much (My goal is to charge lower prices for my puppies so more people can have a purebred!) and one house dog was enough, isn't it?... No! LOL!! We left and I knew I wasn't going to have one.
A little while latter my Mom took my Grandma to buy a puppy and she got Julia for me! She texted me a picture of her and I cried, she was so cute!!
She slept with me the first 3 nights and I tried litter training. But I was not consistent and it was just easier to put her outside. She didn't eat very much. She was so small I never would have guessed she'd grow up to weigh 9lbs! But she did!! I loved giving her a bath, though that didn't last very long. HEHE! She was {still is} my baby! :)
Last year a dear friend of mine and I were talking about how much fun breading and selling puppies would be. She planned to buy the male, since I already had the female. The main problem was that she lives in Missouri and I live in California. With Julia's heat cycles being in May and November, getting our dogs together would be next to impossible since we only see each other late summer or early fall. We didn't realize that at that time.
We prayed alot about it and looked everywhere for a male, but non met her qualifications. After about 5 months of looking in vain and saving $ my Dear Parents said I could/should get the male. I looked around some but couldn't find the right purebred for the right price. We also thought it best to find one that was smaller then Julia in hopes for an easer whelp.
One day in March of this year {2009} my 10 year old brother was looking
on Craigslist and found a tri-colored purebred male Chihuahua. I didn't think too much about it because I hadn't saved up very much. I was sitting on the floor making some jewelry when my mama e-mailed the owner. It took a couple of days but not too long and she arranged to pick him up.
His name was Scooter, I think, and he was so small compared to Julia! I renamed him Marcus. He is tir-colored- black, brown and white, has ACA registration, is 6lbs and loves to give kisses and cuddle! I think he is an Apple Head Chihuahua.
